The Runaway Bay Department of Public Safety was
created by City Ordinance in 2006. The Runaway Bay Police
Department and the Runaway Bay Volunteer Fire Department fall under
this departmental umbrella.

Emergency Plan
The City of Runaway Bay uses a Mass Notification System for local emergencies. Citizens are encouraged to update all telephone and address information with the city to ensure they are notified when a local emergency occurs. This system is used for local Amber Alerts and Silver Alerts.

Public Services
The City of Runaway Bay has two public services departments. First is City Maintenance which is responsible for maintaining the city infrastructure, grounds and utility easements. Roger Gober is the Department Manager. You may contact Mr. Gober at 940-575-4745 or by email.
Our second service department is Public Works which is responsible for the Water Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment. You may reach our public works department at 940-575-4745.
The City checks our Emergency Siren the first Monday of every month at 1:00 PM. This Siren is used when threatening weather demands citizens take shelter immediately.
Are you having a skunk problem on your property? Don't have a trap? For a small deposit you can borrow one from the city to catch the culprit. Call City Hall for more information at 575-4745.

Recreation
Runaway Bay boasts a challenging 18-hole championship golf course with the finest bent grass greens in North Texas. The Club is open to the public and features an elegant dining room and lounge.
A modern marina owned by the City includes 128 lighted boat slips in a wind protective cove. Public boat ramps are also available. Nearby you'll find camping and outdoor activities at Bay Landing, a Thousand Trails/NACO preserve and the Sid Richardson Boy Scout Reservation.
