Welcome to Runaway Bay
Runaway Bay is a unique community nestled along
the southern shoreline of Lake Bridgeport, approximately 50 miles northwest of
Fort Worth, Texas. Runaway Bay is a recreational community offering year round
boating, fishing, and golfing as well as many other recreational and social
activities.
Golfing
The Club of Runaway Bay was named one of Golf Digest's best golf courses to play
in the country. It features a 18-hole championship golf course, large driving
range and practice greens, and a full service restaurant and club house.
Boating & Fishing
Lake Bridgeport is located on the West Fork Trinity River in Jack and Wise
Counties, off U.S. Highway 380, has a surface area of 11,954 acres and maximum
depth of 85 feet. It was impounded in 1932 and renovated in 1972 with a new
spillway. The predominate fish species include the large mouth bass, small mouth
bass, white bass, hybrid striped (palmetto) bass, channel catfish, crappie and
sunfish.

FEMA Flood Plain Information
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has
revised the flood plain map for Runaway Bay. A 90 day
comment period has commenced, starting in March. This
comment period will afford Runaway Bay residents the
opportunity to comment upon, protest or make suggestions
regarding information depicted on the maps. A six month
period will follow to resolve comments or complaints, prior
to the maps going into effect. Once the map is effective, it
is, for all means and purposes, permanent, until the next
Federal review, revision and update
